Just ordered tix for SU/SJU. Due to family obligations, will probably have to drive down from Syracuse and back the same day. I know how to get there but haven't driven it in several years. What can I anticipate for parking in the area?

There are several pricey garages right around MSG. You'll pay through the nose, but that will be your best option.

Closer to the game, check these two websites:
iconparkingsystems.com
nyc.centralparking.com

Both have tons of coupons you can print out - usually they save you at least $15-$20.
Be sure to print them out at least 1 day before the game though, they're often not valid the day you print.
MSG is in the "fashion center" or "garment district" neighborhood.

The arena is between 31st-33rd Sts, between 7th & 8th Aves.
Go with the cheapest place you're comfortable walking to/from!

PS for driving -- I highly recommend I-81 S to I-380 E to I-80 E to Rt 46 in Wayne NJ to Route 3 to Lincoln Tunnel.
Can do it in 4 hours.
Saves time off the Route 17 haul!

That's the route I'm planning to take. Giants are home that day at 1:00. Might I be affected by traffic for their game?

On a late Sunday morning, honestly, I'd cruise 12th Avenue in the 30s and see if there are any on-street spaces available. Wouldn't be a long detour for you, and I've found free spots over there in the past.

Icon coupons are great. I used them when I lived in NJ. Path train is also a good idea. Also can park at Port Imperial ferry. You take the ferry and then the shuttle bus to right outside MSG. Don't know how much parking costs as I lived right there. You can also look for the empty free parking spots in the apartment complex next to the ferry. Either on the street or around PF Changs. Be careful though because they intersperse with tenant parking lots and time limited parking spots.

I think I met you a few times. Did you used to go to Miami Mike's to watch SU games?

How and where did you get tickets?? Did you purchase the St. John's mini plan game with Fordham?

The web site that was linked in the thread SJU/CUSE tickets below and I think I may have gotten burned.

You could just park at one of the Jersey Transit stations and take the train into Penn. I'm sure that that would alleviate any parking/traffic headaches for you. Maybe somebody in NJ can suggest a station?

So did I. I alerted my credit card company.

Sure did. Miss Mike's. I stop and visit him when I'm in the area. And talk to him on the phone from time to time.
So who are you??? I moved to AZ 3 and a half years ago.

My name is Vince. I hung out with you (and a group you were with) once for a football game and then casually said hi to you in Mike's another time after that. I saw you there maybe 3-4 times. I go to Miami Mike's maybe 10-12 times a year and will be there tomorrow night.

You should really look at the Greyhound schedule. By happenstance one year we took the Greyhound bus back from the BET after Syracuse lost early. It was great it's about $40. Takes about 4 1/2 hours and you don't have to do anything. I also took the Greyhound down one year when I was meeting a friend there later in the tournament. It was great. Four and a half hours door to door into the Port Authority and it's an easy walk or five dollar cab ride down to the the Garden
