Literally every away stadium I've been to in the Midwest plays a train whistle...Louisville, Cincinnati, Purdue, etc. It is not original. Why did they ever let it go in the first place? It really juices people up to hear it and I'm not sure how many football teams have a train whistle . Admittedly, there could be some but I don't know who they are. They kept the bell for the extra point, but the bell seems a little dumb to me.
Dome was hot as hell.
Yeah, but I kinda figure that we have a legitimate claim on it considering that Earnie Davis was called the Elmira Express.Literally every away stadium I've been to in the Midwest plays a train whistle...Louisville, Cincinnati, Purdue, etc. It is not original.
You should see all the folks on twitter complaining how the cowbells are ruining their ability to watch the LSU game.
Well… Well… Well… That's because it is so awesome!Literally every away stadium I've been to in the Midwest plays a train whistle...Louisville, Cincinnati, Purdue, etc. It is not original.
I prefer the whistle but the bell goes farther back as far as tradition goes. Why did they ever let it go in the first place? I don't ever remember a bell being at the games, although admittedly I didn't start attending until 1987.I prefer the whistle but the bell goes farther back as far as tradition goes.

Can "Whose house" be owned by ESPN somehow, or another broadcast entity?
Thanks, sounds like we can't use it which makes me feel like:
Yeah, but it's a train whistle. More than one team can have a claim on it.Purdue are the Engineers, so a train whistle would give them as much if not more of a claim, wouldn't you say?
I know, that's what I was saying.Yeah, but it's a train whistle. More than one team can have a claim on it.
Right? So are you saying we shouldn't use it because Purdue can also use it? What are we arguing about?I know, that's what I was saying.
