I don't have close to the finances to travel with the team, hopefully someday, and you guys could certainly be right about that making all the difference. That said, the second and third statements have me a bit confused. I'm not sure where this turned into a basketball vs football thing, although I do agree with you that rooting for one and not the other is a very annoying practice. Then when you say that "NO WAY anybody would ever be opposed to this," are you talking about the big picture of joining the ACC, or the fact I think a lot of people are making too big a deal about trying to become rivals with a rather bland athletic department, in BC.
From a purely football perspective, you really would rather stay and compete with the USFs, Louisvilles, Uconns of the world? I'm just much more excited to be in a real conference, with equal amounts of teams in all sports and not this cobbled-together mess that is/was the Big East. Not to mention, I think its just a really good fit from an academic perspective. And obviously, I'm happy about the road trip angle also.
