In my 30+ years of fandom, David Stern is/was easily my favorite commissioner across all sports.

Stern was the commissioner over the major sport that experienced the most growth in his time, as far as I know. Gotta give him major credit for the way he steered the league.

Also, late career Stern heeling it up at the NBA draft was always hilarious. Really miss that.

I know he was sick but still shocking. He was probably the 2nd best commissioner in sports history behind Rozelle. He took the nba to new heights. Rip David.
