RIP Dean Stockwell

He was one of the best child stars. Just this week I saw him in this:

A really good movie.
The Mighty McGurk and the movie where he went to prep school and played football were my favorites.

Dean had three stages to his career: a child star where he was in the movies we've mentioned as well as "Gentleman's Agreement, "Song of the Thing Man", "The Boy With Green Hair" and 'Kim'.

Later he emerged as a young actor in 'prestige' films like "Sons and Lovers", "Compulsion" and "Long Day's Journey into Night".

After he, (per the IMDB bio), "join(ed) the hippie scene", he came back as a regular guest star and supporting player on TV shows until about 6 years ago, when he had his last credit.

His characters were charming as a child, troubled as a young man and rather sharp-edged or weird as a adult. He was good in all of them.

SWC, you must see The Happy Years, prep football is central to the plot of the movie.

Nothing like hanging out with Mr. Kelly and Mr. Sinatra.
