Well now that just sounds crazy but please tell me more about how Hunt is similar to any of those listed.

another stupid comparison is to say, "tebow is not an NFL qb and was a good runner despite not being incredibly fast. hey, so is Hunt!"

I realize as much but mechanics and taking over when needed was the comparo. Perhaps Broncos Tebow is a better comparo but couldn't come up with someone else throws that 3/4 off the shoulder motion and makes plays with their legs. I'm not selling Hunt for Heisman but you can see what I'm getting at mechanics wise, no?

I understand that Hunt's mechanics are not classic but I guess I need to focus more on that.

He was very inconsistent. I remember thinking we would have beat ND 51-3 if he hadn't played so poorly. Threw a terrible pick in the end zone when he had a wide open guy.

My one excuse for him is that that Rutgers game was in a driving wind storm. That was the game where not one, but two Rutgers kickoffs were hung up in it, came down short and Rutgers recovered. Probably the most miserable game I've ever attended, and certainly not a day for passers.

My hope is that Hunt's junior year will be more like good RJ from senior year. And then Hunt's senior year builds from that. After that point, we'll have at least 4 guys with plenty of experience ready to step right in. And the winner of that QB competition should have some pretty good WRs to throw to.

True regarding that ND game.

So you're saying you don't have an actual comparison to throw out there, just that you don't like mine so you'll focus on that and lob pot shots at it. Got it.

So elaborate on that. I can see the running comparison but not the passing mechanics.

Hunt's better at this point. Regardless of numbers (hard to compare with different eras, different offensive systems, different supporting casts) he seemed to have more responsibility within the offense and a better natural feel for making plays.
