Why is Fitzpatrick speaking to witnesses? Adam Schiff would never speak to witnesses himself, that is what all of those ADAs are for.

Because this is a high profile case, and Fitzpatrick is a publicity whore.

I can't comment on Fitzpatrick, but I would think that the primary motivation here is that this is a VERY high profile case and that is about to intensify with all the fighting between the DA's office and SPD. Heads are going to roll independent of whether or not Fine is guilty. Procedurally at least, it looks very bad. There will be a rush to cover asses, as well as leaving no stone unturned in the investigation.

The entire nation is watching...

Agreed--and all of the above suggests that this is more about CYA and a cantankerous relationship between these two agencies than about Bernie or the case against him.

Seems pretty straight forward on the surface. Bees suggested that there is more to it in another thread. Not sure what to believe at this point.

BTW, nice to see you posting again, B!

Thanks Ryan! Been here from day one; man of few words, I guess. If I could figure out how to PM you...

It will be nice to get back to just talking/reading about b'ball.

Not sure there would be a civil case in this against the SPD or DA's office. There are no damages they can claim for themselves and as has been pointed out the SOL ran out long before. Any victims from that point on may have a claim.

SOL only applies to the claim against Fine. What the SPD and DA did was, essentially, deny Davis his civil rights; that is a separate matter entirely, and I don't their is a statute of limitations on such claims.

by the way, I love how expired statute of limitations shares an acronym with Outta Luck, which is highly appropriate.

Miss your posts, 007. Use the inbox feature [top right] to ping me.

Loving this team's potential so far--think we might prove to be better than we were two years ago. I'd say that without reservation if we had at least one consistent post up threat...

Wish that the focus could be entirely about basketball instead of this unsavory business with Bernie...

its not only connected calls that get tracked.. the question also is how far back to companies keep phone records internally , being its the police station do they have their own phone system like most big companies?
