Bitching about polls is so fruitless. First, they have zero impact on the season. Second, if you think Kentucky is the best team in the country, why should one loss dissuade you? I actually kind of respect the people who stick to their guns on who they think are the best teams in America. I'd like a unanimous #1, sure, but votes don't actually make us the best team in the country, and a lack of votes doesn't mean we aren't.
I agree...to a point. Can't remember the guy, think its the voter for the San Jose Mercury that votes with a lot of outliers - but he explains his reasoning, follows it every week, and (most importantly) bases his votes on the outcomes of the actual games.
He is the type of writer who will say something like, SU beat a conference foe only because they played them at home like SU purposely scheduled them as a home game.
Exactly. He also said he made his mind up way back when Syracuse played Florida (the only time he ever saw Syracuse play) that Kentucky OSU and UNC were better by a longshot. Well, don't things change? I understand that thought process before the season, but we've seen a lot to change your mind to this point. Syracuse is absolutely grouped with those three. And then his comment that the only way he'd jump Syracuse above those three is if Syracuse goes undefeated and the others fall apart is ridiculous. He made up his mind weeks/months ago and refuses to change no matter what happens. He claims he watches a lot of basketball, then how can he only see Syracuse once?Yes, this guy is entitled to his opinion. Yes, it won't have too much signifance in the long run. But as said on Nation Of Orange, if someone is entrusted with a vote, he or she should take the process seriously. He did everything but admit that he wasn't.

It's not the opinion that most are having issues with. It's that he has this very strong, stuck in his ways opinion based on incorrect notions. He hasn't seen Syracuse play, so how can he say the others are clearl better "by a longshot?" He punishes Syracuse for having a 10 man rotation. Really? First I've ever heard of that happening to any team ever. He then said the only way Syracuse could move up over those teams is if Syracuse runs the table, and other three "fall apart." That's simply a stubborn view point that leaves no room for change.until we are voted #1 by each and every college hoops person in the nation, we will be ready with pitchforks and torches.
How dare they have an opinion!!!
