Rondale Moore passed away

Sad.

He’s had a bunch of serious injuries in the league. When he got hurt early on this past season, you could tell how crushed he was.

The mental toll of injuries is serious especially for the guys that are right on the border of a roster spot. No guarantees you ever get another shot.

Not to mention whatever else he may have been dealing with.

Very sad.

I know that it's not this simple, and this may not even apply to this situation, but we need to stop telling kids from the time they're 8 years old that sports are the end all be all. We've elevated them to a level that it's not good for mental health. Sports should be fun, and there needs to be life outside of them.

Incredibly sad story. I'm obviously speculating, but I wonder if his injuries that derailed his career were just too much for him to emotionally overcome.

He was insanely good his freshman year at Purdue in 2018 - 114 catches, 1258 yards, 12 TDs. Those are like first team All American type numbers.

But then he pulled his hamstring in 2019 and was never the same in college. He got drafted, but then he had constant injury issues since joining the league.

I remember watching him that year and thought this guy might be a Heisman trophy winner.Unbelievable talent.

So so sad. As good a time as any to remember, at the end of the day, all these kids are human. Spectacular athletes but human with flaws/anxieties like all of us. Prayers to his family and friends. Horrific news.

Life is amazing. Life is hard. Especially when you scratch the surface. This is a tragedy. My kids are in this same transitory age, moving from childhood to adulthood. There is a mental reckoning you have to navigate when the "real world" hits. It isn't easy and it isn't exclusionary. RIP to Rondale. Much love to his family and loved ones.
