Next year is going to be a very interesting year for SU basketball, roster wise. We basically have 6 new guys coming in:

Patterson
Johnson
Roberson
Ennis
Onbokoh (sp?)
Gbinije

This class will play a huge role in determining the success of our program for years to come. Our last huge recruiting class (#'s wise, not stars) of Flynn, Greene, Jackson, Jardine, Williams, Ongenaut played a huge role in propelling SU into championship contention over the past ~5 years. Yes, there was a miss in that class in Williams, and one we didn't get to see for too long in Greene, but man what a class.

Here's hoping that the newest groove of orange can provide the same program stability/success as our last big recruiting class.

They appear to be a VERY solid group of players. All positions are covered with guys high on both skill and athleticism.

It's a very good point.

I attribute the Golden Era to a couple different factors, but they were tied to guys in the 2005-2007 recruiting classes. With the graduation of Triche and South, the last kids to have played with guys in those classes are gone. I think that Fair and Baye have come up in a great team culture and are well-poised to continue the legacy; we'll see where they take it.

With such a big freshman class (and one that looks to have a number of four- or five-year players), our veterans have a big responsibility; we're going to see the fruits of their work for the rest of this decade.

Cat Rescuer was more of a project than a recruit. His father played for the Globetrotters and it was more of a"let's take a shot on the guy with his wingspan." The two guys who made the most impact were Ricky and Scoop and they were not that heralded compared to Jonny and Donte. I think we may have a similar situation with long-term program impact with this coming class. TE and TR will be great players but I'm excited for the impact the other guys will have too.

Our motto should be: Syracuse: We don't rebuild, we RELOAD!
