One of my fraternity brothers just Facebooked me this tidbit after I suggested to my friends that we look into starting a foundation to help abuse victims. I hope the university can do that. While I am by no means a wealthy alum, I am comfortable enough to give a little something to help. I would not have thought of this cause had it not been for this mess, but in addition to rallying around our head coach and our university I feel a moral obligation to do something to help.

If you've got a bunch of abused children organizations chomping at the bit to potentially attack you or your institution for possible malfeasance...I'd say it's not a bad idea to fund something like this.
It very well might encourage those organizations to be careful about what they say about you or your institution.

I agree they should start this, but only if Fine is found to have abused these children officially. I feel like they are admitting guilt by doing this so soon.
