He showed flashes of good things and had numbers similar to LQA's freshman year. His injury hindered him too. The best thing about freshman is that they become sophomores.I have mixed emotions about Willis. He hit the holes hard during the spring game. During the season, not so much. I saw a lot of hesitation behind the line with gains for little to no yards or negative yards. Granted the OL didn't create good holes. But a good running back will make adjustments. Hoping with another year he sees the field better, makes quicker decisions and creates his own holes.
What's hunnit?in order of importance
1. We didn’t bring any transfers in. Fran is not shy about this so it tells me a lot of what he sees in the room
2. Willis will benefit tremendously from not being on the short side of a terrible substitution pattern where he and Max had a ~2x signal to the D that a run was coming
3. Willis is both bigger (height weight) and faster (people don’t realize this) than hunnit. (We won’t compare the size of the pair of steel ….)
People that don't ŕealize that he's faster weren't watching. There were a couple times he turned the corner last year when our other RBs couldn't. Does he have the grit and tenacity that LQA showed last year? That remains to be seen. If he does, we'll have a stud next year.in order of importance

LQA’ affectionate nickname (might be self anointed, not sure)What's hunnit?
Willis is listed as 6’1 and 226 on the spring roster.Think Willis is going to be a good one. He’s more elusive than Lequint. Good speed. Has the desire and drive you want in a back.
I think we have a ton of youngsters that can provide speed and change of pace too. And will is a solid third down back and option out of the background. It’s definitely a young group but think they’re confident with the numbers. It’s hard to add a good option in the portal given the 1-2 is so solidified. You have to go with youth after that.
Thats funny as i see allen being a one cut and downhill guy 2. i always thought they ran same just at different levels and at diff weights. From what i have seen we dont have anyone that compares to LA. Willis is a bull but is more of a one cut between the tackles back. MJames is the home run hitter and i think that Hardt is a complete back and he is my dark horse to get better as the season progresses. Nixon showed promise before he got injured. Hopefully he is a go in the fall. Bottom line based on what i have seen Willis Hardt James in that order.
Inhave been hyping him up. Possible pro in my eyes.Yup, when I last spoke with McCord I asked him who he felt would be the most impactful player on the team this coming year.
His response was Willis. Said that he was told coming in that Lequint would get most of the carries and that he wouldnt see a ton of playing time as freshman. Willis understood this role. McCord also said that he likely would have started at most schools as a freshman.
Excited to see what he can do with Nixon.
You watched him bouncing early while we ran a lot of zone but he really started runningg downhiill when we went to more power run game. Then he was downhill 1 cut and really hard to tackle. He improved dramattically thru the year except for the one fumble. will be a stud this year watch.I have mixed emotions about Willis. He hit the holes hard during the spring game. I’ve never heard him referred to as that. Self appointed nicknames are the worst. I knew a guy in college who tried to get everyone to call him Boomer (long before the pejorative use of it.) In the three years I knew him, I never heard anyone call him that.LQA’ affectionate nickname (might be self anointed, not sure)
Slang for hundred, the new term to stand for truth or amazing or for ‘full throttle’ etc
Fitty’s older brother.What's hunnit?
He is a major weapon. MJ is my surprise player on O this year.
Wedo need to get him some carries and the ball in space. He is a major weapon. MJ is my surprise player on O this year.
Whether for a play, a series, a quarter, a game, multiple games or longer the RB position will have injuries.Willis will handle RB1 duties and Nixon will spell him. I don’t see anyone taking many snaps from those two barring injury. Willis is better catching the ball out of the backfield than given credit for. You don’t want to try to tackle him in the open field because he can run around you or through you. I have a feeling he will open a lot of eyes this year.
We need to find ways to get him on the field. Use him as a receiver, running back, end around plays.qWedo need to get him some carries and the ball in space.
