Two things from watching that game.

1. First congrats to Rutgers but Florida blew that game on multiple fronts. Terrible ball handling the last minute (looked like they had never seen a full court press) and they simply stopped trying to go iside at all.

2. And again nothing against RU but there guys especially that Carter kid made some beyond ridiculous shots that arent gonna fall most nights, I am talking fadeways with a hand in the face with the shot clock under 5.

One thing I will say for RU that Myles kid can shoot the 3 and so can Carter, if there both on they will be tough. However, id be shocked if they didnt lose there next game in typical RU fashion.

Normally I'd have nothing good to say about 'girls but I was happy to see that punk Rosario lose. Had to really suck for him, come back to Rutgers as the 4th guard for a top 10 team and lose. Rutgers has 3 little freshman guards that can play, 1 has 31 pts. Of course Florida played man the whole game. Those guards will never penetrate the SU zone and if they do their shots will quickly get swatted away. the SEC.

Our win doesnt look as good now, still think florida is a legit final four contender.

I thought the same thing Bees, Florida kept hovering around 6-9 point lead in the second half, kept thinking to myself they better put this thing away soon or there asking for trouble. Sure enough RU kept chipping away and tied it late. Still Florida had a 7 pt lead with a minute to go, simply couldnt stop turning it over with pressurefor RU. YOur right though I dont think Florida took it seriously until it was in a dog fight and it was to late. Florida played some zone but not nearly enough, zero shot blocking either was shocked how bad Young got abused.

Sure, it doesn't look as good but since we play them both once, it doesn't impact our RPI.

Holiday hangover for Gators. BUTGERS...bawha.

Rutgers backcourt looked great against some strong adversaries.
Their poise was impressive...even playing at the RAC.
But our zone is something they've never experienced.
Making sharp passes as the zone moves is a different game.
Only Louisville and UConn seem to do that consistently.
And even they may have problems doing it this season.

Was at my sons engagement party tonight and the game was on at the hosts house. I live in Ocala which is 30 mi. south of Gainesville and the party host and most of the attendees are serious Gator Boosters. Although my daughter went to UF for both undergrad and grad school I found myself rooting for Rutgers simply on the Big East affiliation. I was split to some degree because Cuse had beaten Florida and the RPI implications etc. The Gator nation was quite pissed about the outcome of the game and stunned that their beloved Gators lost to Rutgers of all teams. They all thought that they had this one in the bag. Just goes to show... on any given night in college basketball.
