Rutgers Predictions...

Rutgers has no O so our D should perform well. But their D is a bad matchup for our O. IMO the game will come down to TOs and STs. We tend to not turn it over much, which is good. We defiantly need to prep for their D trying to constantly strip the ball. STs under Dino have been pretty good. Hopefully we prep for their punt block.

Agree with your thoughts here, this has the feel of that 2012 rock fight in the Dome that each team tried to give away. Concern from an SU standpoint is that while SU special teams have been good overall, we have historically struggled against Schiano lead teams and our Defense has struggled to stop trick plays in general.

I expect our D will be able to be able to contain them for the most part especially in the pass game as there's not much there outside of Melton. I do think they will be able to move the ball on the ground as we have gave up to many 5-7 yard runs on 1st down against Ohio for my taste. I also worry about them hitting a couple of trick plays for scores or big gains or popping a punt return for a TD as there return guy is talented. I also fully expect a fake punt or field goal and some other shenanigan's in the kick game that I fear our team won't be prepared for at all (hope to god I'm wrong).

Offensively if we can get any sort of decent lead RU will panic because there not built to come from behind especially with that offense. I worry about Devito with what will surely be non-stop blitzing and while I think we can move the ball I fear we will bog down (as usual) in the red zone. Schiano will bring the farm a lot so we will have 1 on 1 matchups, we need another WR or two to break out besides Taj and we HAVE to utilize Benson in the middle of the field. This would also be the game for us to actually run a trick play or two, RU often is over aggressive on D and is susceptible to trick plays and mobile quarterbacks.

Rutgers also likes to do these field wide laterals on kick returns. They didn’t pull it out against temple but I’d be surprised not to see it this weekend

I don’t know who this RJ Young guy is but he has Rutgers ranked in his top 25
