And, as people here are so fond of saying, water is wet.

While watching the game, I thought LSU just may be the wort team ever... Of course the won.

And in more major suckitude of once and future rivals, BC got creamed by BU.

BC is looking at a 5-25 season. They suck like they've never sucked before.

Yeah what's up with BC? Is it the ACC affiliation that is their demise or were they just never that good in fb and bb to begin with?

The announcers for the Rutgers game pointed out that Rutgers' high water mark in the Big East was that they went 8-8 once. In like 20 years. Think about that.

I don't think joining the ACC was a good thing in hoops, but it's not like they were a perennial power in the Big East. They happened to leave at their high water mark so it looks bad, but they've always been mediocre. Football they killed all on their own with bad hiring and firing decisions.

It is incredibly fun watching them suck though - I don't really care why, just enjoying the train wreck.

Very worrisome given our situation.

"Yeah that team sure did suck last night. They just plain sucked! I've seen teams suck before, but they were the suckiest bunch of sucks that ever sucked!"

BC was never one of the elite hoops teams in the Big East however they did win 2 BE Tourneys (1997 & 2001), so it's not like they never had a good program.

I think the ACC move hurt them in recruiting because kids in the northeast want to play where their friends and family can see them. It won't hurt SU because we've been recruiting nationally for a while now and will just continue to do so. In fact SU and Pitt coming aboard will probably help BC get back a little bit to where they once were now that 2 northeastern teams will be regular competition.

BC had a good coach in place (his name escapes me right now). They fired him because he decided to interview for a better job (NFL maybe). Calmer heads should have prevailed, but BC played the part of woman scorned and haven't been the same since.

Very bizarre thread .. from Rutgers sucking to BC. Maybe it would have been more appropriate for "Who sucks more Rutgers or BC" thread with an optional poll.

As for myself, I am very neutral on the whole who sucks more issue, however if forced to make chance, it would definitely be a tie.

I would always choose Rutgers in a 'Who Sucks More?' poll.

The Big East did the SEC a favor in scheduling Rutgers and DePaul in the challenge rather than Nova and Marquette. Otherwise the results would have been totally embarrassing.

Didn't Marquette beat Wiscy in Wiscy?

Nonsense! They fielded plenty of abysmal teams during their Big East tenure, 7 last place finishers in all.

Yeah, but Wisconsin isn't in the SEC.
I think you're missing the point. Marq (one of the better BE teams this year) sat out the BE/SEC challenge. If they take the place of WVU or another team that lost, the BE would have chalked up another win.

I'm still confused as to why St John's was matched up with UK. Completely missed the boat on a top notch matchup between the conferences. If I'm a UK fan, I'd be pissed with that matchup. Imagine if we drew Ole Miss????

Your point was my point. Marquette did beat Wisconsin and would have done well in the SEC challenge if they participated.

Rutgers is NY's team! It it soooooooo tough to compete at the RAC! And other fallacies ...
