Tunnel screens to the perimeter will punish over aggressive defenses like that.
Teams used to do that against Shafer defenses because they knew were blitzing every 3rd and long.
We need to use screens against Rutgers.
Work on them hard this week have them ready.
That slows down over aggressive defenses.

I was pleased with our wr commitment to blocking on the perimeter, too. Felt like a different level. That’ll be key to get the most out of those screens.

Yes, we shouldn’t be so condescending towards them. If not for them, CFB wouldn’t exist. If not for them, the B10 would need to schedule another OOC game to ensure everyone else gets 1 more win a season. When Clemson and Alabama win the National titles every other year. There’s a reason during player/coach interviews, they always mention Rutgers and how their National championship wouldn’t be possible without the profound historical impact Rutgers made on their program.

Just finished watching the game vs temple, that score had little to nothing to do with Rutgers and everything to do with Temple. A dropped snap that rutgers recovers in Temple territory, a ball that goes off a receivers hands right to a DB for Rutgers, returned to the 1 yard line. I assume they’re feeling confident heading into this week, but I really think we can steamroll these guys. Their QB averaged less YPA than Tommy did on 10 more attempts.
