Sadiq Starting and playing more minutes

Happy Autry realized he is the guy to play over Betsey. You win with your big time talent. If Betsey is feeling it one day, or we need more shooting, fine, have the split be closer to 50/50. But going forward, we are going to need Sadiq. I think his performance Tuesday is being slightly overlooked. He was very good.

Sadiq is definitely a better defender than Donnie. But, when Donnie is healthy, I think he is a pretty decent defender. The problem is, we haven't seen him healthy very often. There was one play earlier this season where he hedged like he was shot out of a cannon. I didn't know that he could move like that. If/when he comes back, hopefully he is close to 100% and he can move well enough to play the type of defense he is capable of.

I don’t think that he was saying to start White over Freeman, just that he is our top 6th man option on the team. I agree. Has a lot of intangibles, and plays with consistently great effort. So nice to have both Sadiq and Tyler Betsey on this team. Confident we will need them both to have a successful run in the ACC.

That's what I like about this team. Any given night somebody can step up and have a great night.

yeah, I think I read that wrong. And I like white a lot but I also like Betsey a lot. Different skill sets for sure. But that is what makes for a successful team if we can get them all together.

I like Betsy but i think he needs to be played based off his first 5 - 10 minutes. If he chucks up 3 - 4 shots and he's missing i think white adds more defensively and his offense is good enough that he becomes a net positive compared to betsy

I rewatched the last 3 mins of the game. Had some huge boards and was playing hard defense. Kid has no fear. Him and Kiyan are built for the spotlight. Kiyan needs to clean up his shot selection and his Defensive toughness, Sadiq needs to clean up his offense. They're both well on on their way.

Really all things considered they're doing everything we've always hoped our freshman would do. Even our best freshman over the years didn't play this level of competition Thanksgiving week. They didn't even really ever leave NY.

Honestly we played with fire with our schedule and this 4 game stretch but it may pay off. I'm laughing at some of the noncons that other teams played.

I don’t agree with this at all. Kingz hasn’t shot well against anyone until Tennessee. Betsey was great against Houston. I think Kingz is just getting comfortable.

Houston is the one game I didn’t see. Against Kansas, and ISU and last night Betsy was no bueno. Kingz was good last night… but I expected more based on off season hype against what seems to have been pretty good defense.

So far in 2 years a lot of hype , but unable to stay healthy long enough to be good. We may never see him healthy long enough to be very good. It would be nice but it can't be counted on.

They won't be. Short number of games. Think back to a lot of our great shooters. They got off to slow starts as well.

Not to piss in your Cheerios but all the quality teams we have played are actually BETTER defensively than our team. Maybe that will help down the line. In theory, things should only get easier for Cuse on offense.

Houston, Iowa St, Tennessee all have built their programs on defense and are damn good on that end of the floor. Kansas happens to be very good defensively too this year. Many of the ACC teams are not on the same caliber defensively of the P5 opponents we have played so far this season

I’d be surprised if White’s minutes are equal to Betsey’s going forward. I agree Betsey is hot and cold. White is the better player. Betsey if hitting or if we are down and need some threes may see more minutes? But our best guys need to play. White’s jumper isn’t even looking that bad.
