I could pay off my mortgage with that line.
Thats the crazy thing. Vegas opening lines are usually close to Sagarin. Although I can't imagine the actual line being anything less than double what he's saying.I could pay off my mortgage with that line.
wow, we're either getting a lot of credit for the qb change and last two games or Vegas is not sold on Clemson.
I hope we win, but that line is awfully low for the #3 team in the nation, don't you think?
The neutral line is -10.91 but he's currently giving home teams a 5.23 point advantage over the standard "3 point home advantage". So thats what brings it down to -6 in the dome.
I've gotta imagine the real line driven by actual wagers will push it to that number...easilyI would have guessed a minimum of two touchdowns to a high of 16

It was a road win in conference. I am also basing it more on how they will view our two losses as opposed to how they view our two wins.really, even after Clemson's miserable performance against NC State?
in the dome.
lol. right? It won't open at -6 but I like that the geek puts the spread there...i think i would have to bet against syracuse for the 1st time ever.
really, even after Clemson's miserable performance against NC State?
IMO, There's no way the actual line will open anywhere near -6 because of the amount of money that would flow Clem right away. Just look at the way some of you are salivating at it. lol
But Sagarin has Clemson -25 over Wake, so he's not far off.Clemson -28 @ home vs Wake Forest right now. I have to think the actual line will be around -14 @ Syracuse.

Keep in mind, though, that margin of victory is a big thing with his predictor model, so our two 50+ point outbursts against 2 crappy teams may be skewing the spread...a tad.
Do you think NCS defense is that good or did Clempson have an off game?
Gotta admit, I like the respect that shows. In other words, they think we can win!
I think Sagarin is considering Clemson's past record on long road trips up north. They've struggled against BC at Chestnut Hill since 2006. Even against a terrible BC team last year, they only won 45-31. A full Dome is a bigger challenge.
