Statement released by NFL regarding punishment

I don't think the punishment is that severe, considering what Payton allowed to happen under his watch. I would be greatly surprised if Greg Williams is ever again allowed to be associated with the NFL in any way. I support Goodell's handling of this 100%. Depending on how much Payton and Loomis knew about the scheme, they too might deserve the same thing as Williams.

Sean Payton: Suspended 1 year WITHOUT PAY, ZERO CONTACT (including NFL Draft) with the team begins April 1
Mickey Loomis: 8 game suspension WITHOUT PAYand $500k fine, stsrting at the beginning of the regular season.
Saints: $500k fine and loss of second round pick in 2012 AND 2013
Gregg Williams: SUSPENDED INDEFINITELY, effective immediately
Joe Vitt: 6 game suspension WITHOUT PAY and $100k fine
