San Diego state behind us don't panic

Fresno State has shocked San Diego State. The Bulldogs are headed to the NCAA Tournament. The Aztecs appear to be headed for the NIT.

thx to 20 plus for this stat. San Diego state behind us 15 spots

I have no problem admitting to rooting for Fresno State. Hard to make an argument for SDSU to make it in ahead of us now that I've seen some of their stats.

I did, however, enjoy a Pearl Jam concert on their campus and have nothing bad to say about my experience tailgating there.

In another thread I asked why this guy said "shocked". It was a rubber match on a neutral court that was played close. If they shocked them, it was the 2nd time this season.

Hahahaha Lunardi has SDSU as in... Such a joke. You look at SU and SDSU and it isn't close

Pearl jam woooooooooooooo

Why? they have one top 50 win, and some bad losses.

18-2 in their conference and RPI of 32...and I know how this works.

You are setting yourself up for a bad night, man. You guys are getting way too worked up about this.

I agree with have a chance, but it's literally a coin flip. We had 4 chances to lock up this spot and we lost everyone of them. I don't give a flying what they say. 5 out of 6 is "eye test" able.

So you're only reasoning is RPI...what about their record vs. top 100 ? SOS? What have they done OOC?

If rpi isn't looked at, like people have said, its a moot point. Our resume blows theirs away. I agree its really close, my gut feeling is 50/50, but it would be a travesty if San Diego St got in.

*sigh*
Looking at solely RPI would put them around a 9 seed -- do you think they're a 9 seed? They have 3 top 100 wins and lost a team with an RPI over 300. The Cal win is nice but they lost to every other good team they played. 18 of their wins are against teams with an RPI higher than 120...18!!

Just so you know -- we have 8 top 100 wins.

By your rationale (gaudy win total in a sh__ conference) Albany, UAB, Weber St, SF Austin, Hawaii, Hampton, and Texas A&M-CC are all prime at-large candidates.
And going by the sacred RPI, Akron, South Dakota St, Princeton, Yale, UNC Willmington, and Hofstra should all be safely in the tourney.
Right?

Their OOC SOS is actually #2. That is the stat that scares me the most. But still, with only 3 top 100 wins and a sub 300 loss, I think we are ahead of them.

It's the UGA thing though -- they beat Cal and Long Beach State -- but no one else from that vaunted OOC schedule. Again, not leaving the state of California.

I'm dumb. You guys are the smartest.

We'll see...

Well why don't you back up your claim a little? What is it about their profile that makes them a tournament team?
