Maryland losing to Richmond

UNC rolling but Duke while up is having issues again

Started watching the Hopkins-Towson game but doesn’t look like Towson is going to put up much of a fight so switched over to the Maryland-Richmond game. Would be quite the win for Richmond if they can hang on through the fourth.

Hopkins looks pretty good but Towson looks like a shell of what they wer last year due to graduation losses, they looks really bad. UVA blew them out last week in a scrimmage and it shows why.

Richmond starting to fall apart in the fourth though it looks like Maryland is having a tough time breaking through the zone defense.

My Duke team may have found their goalie as that has been an issue for over a year. He shut things down in the second half and Duke definitely has a pretty potent offense even without Joe Robertson. It stinks losing him and Wilson Stephenson for the year, but this will be an interesting year for them as I think they’ll win a number of games and make it into the postseason. The future is bright for them.

Towson came back to tie the game at 6 but two quick Hop goals has it 8-6 No Epstein for Hop and they began to struggle when Towson went zone

Too bad for Richmond, they tightened up and just didn’t execute down the stretch.

Richmond won the OT face-off and promptly turned it over. MD took the ball and scored a minute later.

Final - MD 14-13 OT.

Also, Hop leads 11-7 going into the 4th period.

Loyola struggling as well, Virginia up 11-4 about middle of the third.

Towson feeling those graduation losses as Hopkins scores 9 of the last 10 goals to win 15-7. Hopkins won the face off battle 20-26.

Yup Loyola and Towson were both decimated by graduation. Loyola should come around a bit later in the year but their fanbase discounted how much they lost. UVA is in another league compared to them right now

Checking out other scores, Marist downs Binghamton 12-4 but the Binghamton goalie made 17 saves.
Hobart drops 22 on Canisius.
Carolina only puts up 14 on Marist.
Army all over UMass 17-4.
Rutgers up 9-4 on St Johns at the half.

Virginia wins 12-9.

That Army game may end up being more difficult then I initially envisioned. Either that or UMass took an enormous step back. Army and Rutty play soon, will be a fascinating game.
