On the next play, Hunter Matt got loose for the best run of the night by either team.
He went up the gut, bounced off a few Marauders and kept chugging until he reached the Carlson 3-yard line after a 34-yard jaunt.
The Dalton Crossan File: With his 228 yards and 3 touchdowns, Crossan (18 TDs and 931 rushing yards in 2011) currently has 1,902 career yards, still good enough for No. 9 all-time in Sachem history. Next on the list at No. 8 is Anthony Quezada (1,961), No. 7 Michael Murphy (1,963) and No. 6 Michael Andreassi (1,966). He's only 69 yards from becoming the sixth player in school history to reach 2,000 career yards. If you add in his numbers from two varsity seasons at Shoreham, he has 2,946 career yards as a high school football player. When he reaches 1,000 yards, he'll be only the 14th player in Sachem history to hit that mark for a single season. Last year he had 984 as a junior.
