Which 2015 Recruits Will Attend the Syracuse Spring Game? (PS; Mink)
Like it is every year, Saturday's spring game will be a critical recruiting weekend for the Syracuse football program.
A bunch of the recently signed 2014 prospects have said they are going to make the trip to campus this weekend, but the more compelling storylines are the next wave of recruits the coaching staff is chasing.
Syracuse nabbed its first verbal commitment for the 2015 recruiting classWednesday evening in New York running back Tyrone Perkins, rating as a high three-star prospect by 247Sports' national recruiting director JC Shurburtt.
Might Syracuse add another by the end of the weekend?
For that answer and more, we turned to At their request, this network is being blocked from this site.'s Mike McAllister to preview the weekend.
Who's coming?
McAllister mentioned the following uncommitted targets are scheduled to be in attendance on Saturday: OT Cody Conway, RB Jonathan Forrest, DB D'won Walker, LB/DE Jordan Fox, DB Daiquan Kelly, RB Robert Washington, LB Drew Wiley, RB Dontae Strickland

QB Terrel Hunt Named 2013 SU Football MVP at Team Banquet (PS; Axe)
Syracuse football held its annual banquet Friday night, when it honored 19 seniors from last year's 7-6 team that ended with a victory against Minnesota in the Texas Bowl.
But it was a rising redshirt junior who took home the evening's biggest award. Quarterback Terrel Hunt was presented with the Bill Horr Award, given to the Most Valuable Player on the 2013 team.
Hunt was perhaps the biggest breakout performer for the Orange last season. He won the starting job coming out of spring ball but entered the season as the back-up to fifth-year transfer Drew Allen. By Week 4, Hunt replaced Allen and started the rest of the way, enduring a season of ups and downs capped by an MVP performance in the Texas Bowl.
...
Other players who won awards include Lewellyn Coker, Jay Bromley, Charley Loeb, Sean Hickey, Riley Dixon, Rob Trudo, Marquis Spruill, Jerome Smith, Macky MacPherson and Chris Clark.

Setting the Stage for the Spring Game: Complete A-Z Guide (PS; Mink)
Spring practice No. 2 of the Scott Shafer era comes to a close Saturday afternoon at the Carrier Dome.
It has been a whirlwind last few weeks as the 2014 team starts coming together. The staff made some headway on answering a few of the biggest questions facing the squad this year, but more won't be known until preseason practice starts in August, when the remaining freshmen and a host of injured players join the fold.
Syracuse will have some semblance of a normal scrimmage on Saturday, but it also promises to mix in a little fun along the way, too.
So as Syracuse moves out of the spring and heads toward summer workouts and the new season, here's an alphabetical look to get you up to speed before Saturday's show.
A is for Adam ... and Acosta. Both are first-year assistant coaches on Shafer's staff.Joe Adam will coach the offensive line, and Bobby Acosta will lead the tight ends.

10 Players to Watch in Spring Game (PS; Mink)
Syracuse made a big splash Wednesday at Destiny USAunveiling new uniforms. But the meat and potatoes of the season's success will be on display Saturday in the Carrier Dome.
That's where fans can catch a glimpse of the 2014 Syracuse University football team during its annual spring game. Kick time is 1 p.m., and a 30-minute autograph session follows.
Syracuse generated a lot of discussion about the program this week with the uniforms and the upcoming series with LSU starting in 2015 at the Dome. And a clean, efficient performance in the scrimmage can add to that buzz.

To the Editor;
This is an open letter to Syracuse University Chancellor Kent Syverud and the school's athletic director, Daryl Gross.
At the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, I learned to write broadcast copy in a clear, concise manner, so here's my simple point:
For the sake of its national reputation, Syracuse University must immediately reinstate traditional, fan friendly and very ORANGE football uniforms.
