1) An NCAA championship for Syracuse University's basketball team - You can't mention Syracuse to most folks without immediately conjuring thoughts of former assistant coach Bernie Fine and the bizarre, ugly and troubling scandal caused by the allegations against him.
A title would put the focus back where it belongs for the talented group of players that might be the deepest team in Syracuse's storied history. It would also be a respite for fans and alums of the school, like myself, who can only be accused of loving to watch great college basketball and take pride in Syracuse.

2. Nerlens Noel (Tilton School) – Noel averaged 8.5 points, 19 rebounds, and 5 blocks over 2 games this week. Those numbers could have been even better as both contests were blowout wins and saw the bench being emptied towards the end.

Warrick time?
When training camp began, it appeared veteran forward Hakim Warrick might get squeezed out of the playing rotation, but Warrick might have squeezed his way back in after scoring 29 points and collecting seven boards in the two preseason games.
Warrick could replace Josh Childress as the backup small forward behind Grant Hill. Childress had just seven points and one rebound in the games against Denver.
"He's changed my mind and all the coaches' minds," Gentry said. "We have to find a way to get him on the floor."
