Anyone have any real sense of what is going on? I know there have been reported issues there, but trying to see if anyone here has a better sense of what happened in that players meeting.

Either way, everything is am seeing/hearing isn't putting Dion in a good light.

I'm fairly disconnected from the NBA, especially this early in the season, so I have no clue what is going in. What's the story so far, is there a link?

Dion got into with a teammate in a players only meeting. I heard they needed to be separated

Sam Amico: [URL='http://hoopshype.com/twitter/media.html']Confrontation between Cavs players reported by ESPN involved Dion Waiters, source says. Waiters sat out last night, didn't travel today. Twitter @SamAmicoFSO

Dion got into it a bit with JB. Considering transferring if I recall correctly. Then swallowed his ego and was a great teammate. Hopefully he hits the replay button here.

Some rumors floating around that he punched Kyrie in the face. FTR these are completely unsubstantiated.

There is A LOT of chatter behind the scenes that's starting to leak out that paints Kyrie in a really negative light. He's being painted as a total prima donna

Dion clocked uncle drew?

Kyrie is the prima donna? Really? I suppose it could be true. I just know Dion has been tweeting about how he's going to be the best player in the NBA this year and, turns out, his former SU buddy MCW is getting all the honors and attention. Could this be part of the problem? I hope not. Dion is very talented. He's got to get it together between the ears.

I can tell you with relative certainty that is not true.

Just what has been listed below. Nothing more.

Sounds a lot like what Dion got into here at SU. I call it competitive frustration from an ultimate competitor. That said, sounding like Dion smacked somebody, just tbd who. If it was Kyrie, hello CJ Miles...buh bye Dion.

Allegedly words with Kyrie, followed by being removed from the starting lineup, followed by a mysterious illness that has kept him out of games.

Which part? The punching thing----like I said, that claim is unsubstantiated and is very likely just a [false] rumor. The stuff about Kyrie being problematic behind the scenes----this is all 'behind the scenes' stuff so who really knows for sure, but there is A LOT of stuff spilling out from different sources. Usually when there is smoke, there is fire.

well Deron Williams and Chris Paul are getting up there so we'll need a young diva PG to fill the void.

The Kyrie piece.

I don't think Mike Brown is a good fit either. I know he has been upset with Kyrie with his late game shot scenarios to win a game and such. It's tough since Kyrie is the only one who can consistently put up big numbers. Can't really sit him or they will get blown out. Dion's outside shot is still streaky. Not really sure what's going on with Dion. Lately, I haven't liked his court demeanor. Doing the whole pouting routine thing if something doesn't go his way while trotting back on D. I do think he has been rebounding better and getting more steals.

Local media doesn't like him at ALL for whatever reasons. Brian Windhorst was a guest on WKNR the other day and told the local guys that he doesn't understand all the Dion hate. Chris Grant is getting killed locally the Bennett pick which is totally justified and for Dion, and even Tristan Thompson. I do like Thompson's progress and Dion has potential. Whatever is going on with Dion is going to turn any undecided media member against him which will suck. I still think Dion is a PG at this level.

"Waiters insists the only thing he's fighting is the flu"

Maybe Mike Brown clocked Irving...?

Hmm Kyrie rocking a swollen, purple right eye, and Dion mysteriously not playing with "flu-like" symptoms...it could be rumors...but the math sure adds up pretty well.

Even knowing this was about the Dion fight rumors, I thought this thread had something to do with Scoop Jardine saying something about the Dion rumors lol.

I still don't think Cleveland should have taken Dion in the draft. Just my personal opinion. I think he's a sparkplug off the bench (think Ginobli or OKC Harden). Don't think he fits with Kyrie well. Same reason I think it would have been wise for Cleveland to consider McLemore instead of Bennett. McLemore could play off of both Irving and Waiters well IMO.

Two things. I believe Kyrie was not liked by his Duke teammates I was looking for an article about it, but I couldn't find it! (it's been a few years) It's been a few years. Second I hope they trade Dion for Iman! As a Knick it would make my day!
