I hope so. It's not like he's 2-5 from the line. 12-26 after five games is quite a bit of free throws.
Hal Greer was a career 80% free throw shooter and shot his jumper for his free throws. He started out with the Syracuse Nationals.
On the plus side though, him shooting that many free throws as a true freshman is evidence of how sophisticated his offensive game is.
