does perception finally take a hit this year?

if Mizzu/Auburn/Vandy lose

ala/Miss/Ga lost
Miss/Miss St/LSu won

A&M was lucky to win.

they can still end up with a good record of 7-3 or a bad one of 4-6..

I think it's already going to creep into the discussion in 2014. Oklahoma over Bama will make some waves in the perception of the SEC. I think it's going to be FSU that blows the doors off of it (or has a chance to).

Not when ESPN has so much money invested in the SEC. Fantastic football conference but the hyperbole of it all drives me crazy. Felt the same way about Big East hoops as well...great conference but when some just start going overboard it just gets to be too much.

Exactly, when the Cheeseburger gushes over the Big 10 it drives me crazy, same thing!!!!!

My fav bit of hyperbole was when the announcer last night said that the Alabama QB had seen every blitz imaginable as the winningest QB in team history. A few plays later? He almost gets sacked and throws a duck right to the Oklahoma DB for a pick 6.

They also said it might have been the best Sugar Bowl in it's history. Really?!

It was a game for the ages. It was a fun watch but I swear it's like listening to the proverbial teenage girl talking when they do that.

I don't like it when they include other teams from the conference as being better than others that are about the same just because they play an SEC schedule. That's when it starts to get to be too much especially when the person saying that has no idea who they actually played. It was such a nice thing to happen to the SEC when Texas A&M and Missouri, both who haven't done anything in years in the Big 12, took the conference by storm. That right there gets rid of the bull crap theory of "If Mississippi St was in the Big 12 they'd win it" kind of a statement.
