0-4 vs ACC , Miss State done , Bama trails Auburn in Iron Bowl. A loss there and maybe NO teams in inaugural Final Four. That's a little solace for Orange faithful.

It doesn't soften the blow of our season for me but part of me would find it really funny if the SEC was shut out of the playoff - a big part of me.

Even if auburn wins the game, with Mississippi state out, and Ohio State losing their QB today, Bama winning the SEC title game will be enough to put them over 1 loss TCU or 1 loss Baylor.

That said Bama just took the lead back, wouldn't be surprised if they don't relinquish it

IF they beat Mizzou in SEC title game. Mizzou no joke.

With the exception of the GTech win the rest of the SEC teams you referenced are the dregs of the conference. I'd say its equally instructive that a UK team that was 2-6 in the SEC nearly beat L'ville on their home field while a 4-4 UF team that resides in the weaker SEC East nearly beat FSU at the Doak. Could you imagine the SEC pumping their chests out if Bama, Auburn, Mizzou and MSU (mostly on their home fields) beat Wake, Cuse, NCState and UNC? Nah, me neither.

Doesn't matter what you think. When the media mentions it over and over, it is good for the conference - period.

Hey I hate the SEC as much as the next guy but...

Florida, South Carolina and Kentucky suck. You should expect to beat them. But yeah, the media saying 0-4 vs ACC is awesome

Kentucky scored 17 pts off UofL turnovers, and Louisville had to play their 3rd string QB after an injury and being down 13-0 at the time. Plus, UK had 2 weeks to prepare. And Louisville still beat UK. Bolin, their 3rd stringer, ended up throwing for about 380 yds, many to DeVante Parker, a 1st round draft pick in the next NFL draft. I was at this game, really good game, and really long game. Thank goodness UK lost.

No one should expect to beat Florida or south Carolina.

The media attention this weekend and $2.50 will get you a ride on the NYC subway. I look at the current rankings of this year's recruiting class and ESPN has seven SEC teams in the top 10. In addition to seven consecutive national titles (and damn near an eighth last year) the SEC has had 36% of all first round draft picks over the last five years while winning 71% of their bowl games during that period. Until those stats are reversed I think SEC haters are going to have to settle for getting excited about a few wins over the dregs of the conference.

Florida , Georgia and South Carolina are the dregs of the SEC ? Spin much .

Aha, an SEC troll. Media attention matters. You are the only fool that doesn't think so.

Spinners gonna spin.

It's the SEC. It's what they are really best at.

Must say I had a fine time in Death Valley watching us end our misery vs the chikkens...
And I can assure you if the ACC/SEC results had been reversed, the SEC homers would have
been trumpeting their mastery to the skies. You have to share a state with these SEC clowns
to really get a feel for all this "SEC SEC" bluster. I invite our northern neighbors
to enjoy this with your southern brothers...FO and OH baby

You only seem to come out to defend the SEC.

LOL are you Crusty the Clown? Been wondering where were you hiding. I grew up in Syracuse and went to grad school at SU. Have never attended an SEC game in my life although I hear it's quite the experience.

Nah just tryin' to keep it real. Tough to do on this board sometimes, though. Some here are most certainly married to a gal named Marge while having two kids named Bart and Lisa.

So is Clemson, FSU, VT, etc. What's your point? The Cuse/Pitt experience sucks? We already know that. Keep choppin

Try to keep readin'. I was responding to Crusty's goofy assertion that I was an SEC troll.

Troll? no. Fanboy? Absolutely.

Remember the days when we broke Mizzou's home game winning streak? With a QB who couldn't run.

I was at a wedding watching that game on my phone and just completely losing my s--t. I got an earful from my wife for abandoning her on the dance floor, but it was worth it.

I don't think anyone is arguing that the ACC is better than the SEC but you can bet your butt that SEC would be going nuts if they beat FSU or went 4-0 regardless of the level of the teams. That said, SEC West has been the powerhouse all year and still probably deserves to have 2 teams in the playoff.

Fanboy? More like Factboy. If you care to refute the facts then have at it.

Sure it seems the SEC tends to have excessive pride. No doubt. But that's nothing unique. In the past I've seen folks on the SU hoops board pumping their collective chests out even when the BE wasn't doing anything special.
