Only Arkansas and TAM won their bowl games. LSU and the Mississippi teams lost. Hmmmmm.
I can't and will never root for Ohio State, I would rather see the Dark Side defeat the force than seeing the Buckeyes win.Try living in Alabama. "Roll Tide" is simply nauseating. I am SO pulling for Ohio State to beat them.

Not denying being overrated a bit but I think judging by bowls isn't a good metric. Bowls are about motivation as much as talent. I'd look at the regular season records they have against other conferences (and the sec east) as the best metric. Bama blew out wvu. Auburn beat k state. Lsu beat Wisconsin. Ole miss blew out Boise, etc.
Now, why would you do that?Try living in Alabama.
Well, yeah. Games when you have a chance to win a conference or national title mean a lot more than anything after those aspirations are gone. There are always coaching issues (e.g., chavis at lsu) that impact things during bowl season. It's pretty simple psychology. How you describe it (the one game aimed at showing who you are...) is not how it's seen by some of these teams or fan bases. That's what the first 12 games are for.So... some games matter and others, like the one game at the end of the season aimed at showing who you are as a team, that game doesn't matter as much?

Paul Johnson was great. "For at least a week or two we don't have to hear about the SEC."
I've lived in Atlanta before. The SEC hype there in that town is just nauseating.

But its ok every other year to trumpet how great the SEC is , because of the bowls. Most of them don't play any good out of conference opponents until the bowls, so how else to compare? Not denying being overrated a bit but I think judging by bowls isn't a good metric. If Alabama doesn't beat #Ohio then the conference won't be the best conference for 2014.
I guess no one is now basically the entire media covering college football including the 1000 lb gorilla ESPN, CBSSports, writers from SI.No one has claimed it was.

I am not talking about the nut jobs who call into the Finebaum show the media has bought the SEC hype.
It is a great conference but when it fails it needs to be pointed out since they have no problem doing that stupid SEC chant. I went to the Belk Bowl on Tuesday and UGA fans did that stupid chant. Why? Because they won and wanted to play the conference card. When they lose they need to hear that stupid chant as well.
Are you serious? Brent Musberger during the broadcast last night was saying the SEC's number one status was never in doubt until what TCU and Ga. tech did yesterday.Everything on Espn I've heard has acknowledged the pac 12 is better.

I have no idea who Sudanos is and Schlereth is an NFL analyst if they are your anti-SEC people sorry. ESPN is in bed with the SEC that was obvious with the SEC network investment. So does Musberger speak for ESPN?
Sudanos and Schlereth have consistently said on their show that SEC isn't number one. I'm sorry if I don't buy into the SEC CONSPIRACY narrative.
