Today is the four year anniversary for me of when I left Mayo Clinic after 60 days, finally healthy after more than 2 years of fighting staph infection complications (which developed from a wound from sitting in my wheelchair). I am so thankful and blessed to have remained healthy for these 4 years and not been back in the hospital.

The connection to Syracuse is that day I was leaving the hospital was the day we were playing North Carolina in the Preseason NIT. We had an 8 hour drive from Minnesota back home to Kansas and I was afraid we might not get home in time to see the game. Yes, I seriously debated staying in the hospital another day, after already being there 60 days, to make sure I wouldn't miss the game!

Glad to hear these last 4 years have been good to you, and here's to many more.

For such an accomplishment, I think you should go to maui this weekend.
