It’s a device used to reduce the risk of head/brain trauma. Apparently, it was approved by the FDA last year. Luke Kuechly wore the Q Collar near the end of his career.

I wonder if any of our guys have tried this out, or will.

I saw a few of these (I think) on some women in a soccer game. Im not sure if it was U17 World Cup or NWSL of something else, but noticed them and neither my wife or I could figure out what their purpose is. Thanks for sharing.

I had a pretty lengthy conversation with one of their higher up sales folks while watching PLL practice in Albany last May. The tech came out of figuring out why so many soldiers were experiencing concussions even if they weren't receiving blunt trauma.

They started examining animals that you would think endure severe head trauma without being concussed in any way, namely mountain goats and woodpeckers. They ultimately discovered that they have some biological thing (I'm not a scientist) that allows for additional blood floor that basically cushions the brain. So when the Q collar goes on, it has the effect of causing some extra blood (or some other fluid) to get trapped in the head, limiting impact and thereby reducing concussions.

Note: This is probably only about 80% correct but it's what I recall from the conversation.

cannot possibly see how this works, or don't understand it. What I do understand having taught anatomy and orthopedics for 30 years is that there's zero chance its hitting the internal juglar, which as the name suggests is internal beneath a bunch of other structures. The external juglar yes. Still even with what they are saying don't see it, other than causing the unintended consequence of headaches from increased blood flow and pressures to the head. Maybe I'm missing something.

It sounds like the Power Balance band. If it did what it said everyone would use it. And having extra blood in your head for 4 hours can't be a good thing.
