JB said at a recent presser Swider/Buddy/Jimmy will not return next year. Any contrarians or skeptics that at least one will return?
I don't doubt that they'll all leave. I'm just surprised that Swider is going. I guess he wants to start his pro career internationally?
Why would Jesse leave? In his recent presser JB said “before the season Cole said he was only here for 1 year and I haven’t talked to him since”. It was an interesting statement by JB.
I think Jimmy and Buddy are gone for sure - Cole is more up in the air IMO. If he comes back he is no doubt the guy and will get a ton of shots. I could understand him wanting to get paid now, but if he has a great offseason and good year next year, I could see him getting drafted despite his age. For him it might be worth it to come back and see if that happens. I don’t think his family particularly “needs” the money either so it’s not a situation where he needs to get paid ASAP to help his family
It definitely would not be a surprise if he left but I don’t think it’s guarantee
I also think a lineup of Mintz/JG3/Cole/Benny/Jesse is enticing. Now if we don’t get Mintz and let’s say Jesse leaves and we are scrambling to fill the roster, then maybe Cole goes.
Cole will be 23 in May. He is 22 now.Swider is 23 years old.
He wants to earn a paycheck before he starts collecting Social Security.
I don’t think he would, it was just a hypotheticalWhy would Jesse leave?
Hope he does. I think he would have a monster season next year.In this interview with Donna, Cole said the door is still open for him to come back.

That's a little extreme, but I get what you're saying.Swider is 23 years old.

Why would Jesse leave?
Because he can start pretty much anywhere, likely have better talent around him, and not have a coach who throws him under the bus at every presser to deflect from the awful play of his sons?
Just spitballing here.
I’ll turn it around - in the Portal Universe:
Why would Jesse stay?
A natural PG could help him immensely. Jesse and Joe are still threats.I wouldn't mind Cole back either but I think part of his success is that he has found his niche as our 3rd option. I think if he gets asked to do more, the limitations in his game will also shine thru. His game has grown on me a great deal since my first impression. Surprised in a good way.

He also mentioned broadcasting. Newhouse is pretty good.Swider is 23 years old.

Of the 3 - who is the most valuable to return for next season? In his recent presser JB said “before the season Cole said he was only here for 1 year and I haven’t talked to him since”. It was an interesting statement by JB.

Probably Buddy. He's drawn the other team's best defender all year and still been our best scorer.Of the 3 - who is the most valuable to return for next season?
Whoever is the Cuse head coach next year, GET A POWERFUL POWER FORWARD AND A POINT GUARD WHO CAN PENETRATE AND MAKE EVERYONE A BETTER PLAYER. Do whatever it takes. Sell your soul, for the betterment of the Cuse future program.Probably Buddy. He's drawn the other team's best defender all year and still been our best scorer.
If we're playing what if's, however. Getting a high level PG or forward from the portal would be even more valuable. But can we convince one of those to come here?
Disagree. We’ve seen enough Buddy ball offense. To me it’s a toss up but I’d say Jesse over Cole, but just barelyProbably Buddy. He's drawn the other team's best defender all year and still been our best scorer.

Jesse wasn't part of the question. Look at the OP. The question was who of those three would be most valuable. I'm ready for the end of Buddy ball too, but I think if Cole is in the same role next year as Buddy was this year, he won't handle it as well.Disagree. We’ve seen enough Buddy ball offense. I don’t think that he should have been the third option this year. Plays should have been made up for him to be the second option. I know that Buddy, Joe and Jesse were on the team but it seems that Cole was a better option due to the coverage that other teams put on Buddy. Problem was the offense was geared around Buddy. I did like it when Joe worked the ball to Jesse on Pick and Rolls.I wouldn't mind Cole back either but I think part of his success is that he has found his niche as our 3rd option.
