Agreed -- don't see the Bell comparison [beyond lanky body type], certainly not in terms of comparing their games / skill sets.
Yeah, Bell is not a good comp. From the limited tapes, Womack has a multiple skill set. His potential is intriguing. We won't know until he is on the court how well those skills will translate to this level. I agree with others who pointed out that he needs to mature physically to maximize his potential.

I don't want to dampen the mood, but he's not playing against very good competition in that video. However, the shooting stroke does look good. His stats through last week are below. Womack had a terrible start to the season shooting the 3. He's been really solid after the first 5-7 games. Well over 40%.

Screw that, he was playing the Monstars and DOMINATED.

So, the Chris Bell comparisons continue.
I think they are on different ends of the small forward spectrum.

Womack takes less than 25% of his shots from the 3 point circle. Womack averages over 10 rebounds a game. Womack averages over 4 assists a game. Womack is considered an excellent defensive player. He has 15 personal fouls in 14 games. And he has a very good handle.

He is just a really well rounded player. With all respect to Chris, he is a good, maybe a really good outside shooter. That is his only accomplished skill.

There is no doubt Womack is playing against suspect competition on the mean streets of Milwaukee and he might struggle for a while making the adjustment to college ball. But the kid knows how to play basketball. You can see he has a good basketball IQ. That kind of stuff just is not true for Chris.

I think what we are seeing is a player that is fundamentally sound.
Question is and will be, does he have the talent/abilities to compete
against the "dukes"?

Milwaukee has had it's share of prep stars: Downtown Freddie Brown, Latrell Sprewell, Jordan Poole, Terry Porter, Kevon Looney and Kon Knueppel. And Douggie Gottleib was born there but then moved to California. Lol.

If Womack can become a household name, then Alex Kline's salary is well worth it.

Well, we struck out with our higher priority SFs. This probably represents the staff moving on to the next highest guy on their recruiting chart, for what shaped up as a position of need in the class of 2025.

They must have liked this guy's tools, given that he's a slightly lower rated guy.
If you look at the history of Syracuse basketball, we have had some guys that were not 4 or 5 star recruits that played well for us... Andy Rautins comes to mind along with the East Carolina transfer, named Hughes. Maybe this guy will be a designated 3 point sniper for us, who can come off the bench and provide a spartk.

I just thought our fourth incoming recruit needed a bump on his thread. This video is long… It thinks it has every make from his high school season. If it missed some, it still has enough…

It’s amazing what AI can do these days!

You can never have too many shooters.
His form is more of a set shot like Chris Bell.
Unlike Bell, he is a willing cutter to the rim, and he drives pretty well.

Kingz, by way of contrast, gathers himself and sets his feet well before a shot.

I'd be surprised if Mr. Womack sees much time next year. There is a lot of competition for his spot.

Thanks for sharing the video.

Kingz is elite as a spot-up, catch-and-shoot three-point threat despite less-than-perfect shot mechanics (he often twists his body going up and lands sideways). I read a stat where he shot an incredible 54% on unguarded catch-and-shoot threes and 41% on guarded catch-and-shoot threes. He is a weapon.

But, "only one of Kingz’s 58 three-pointers came off the dribble." This means that Red is going to need to run stuff for him to take advantage of his elite shooting - he isn't adept at creating his own shot. This also means that defenses will ALWAYS need to account for him - you can't leave a shooter like that alone. This will open up the court for the pick and roll game.

Nunes: Kingz Scouting Report

These are the kids, in this era, that would be better served at a CAA/AAC/MVC school playing 20-30 minutes per game for a year or two before transferring up.

If he plays any significant minutes this season, I think it would mean bad things for this team and these coaches.

We currently don’t have any forward on our roster that can do what he does. Smooth, versatile, athletic, passer, ball handler and shooter. He might be really underrated. He looks a little thin, but he’s very skilled.
Moten type?

This may have been asked already and I missed it, but any relation to Doug Womack?

I would wager Womack, Zephir, and the recently committed center will play sparingly. Basically 11-13 in the rotation.

But if we don't get these kids on our roster to develop, they won't transfer here if they are the CAA/AAC/MVC freshman of the year.

Agreed, hope he doesn't play anything but garbage time this season.
