Duke in the Dome that weekendVisiting officially Sept 27
I was like, why are they playing basketball in September.Duke in the Dome that weekend
Rippey has official visits scheduled into November. He’s taking a lot of visits.Hope we can get an early commitment from him or Rippey. One early commit could influence other recruits.
Karvala seems more likely to be the one who could likely make an early decision for Cuse, but I’m hoping that the visit goes very well, to go along with several heavy money bags, that Rippey will pass up visiting other schools and make an early Orange decision.Rippey has official visits scheduled into November. I haven't heard anything to think otherwise. Same weekend as Rippey. Asher Elson and Ralph Scott in October. Is Vaughn Karvala still visiting on Sept 27?
FYI. Just learned from a source: Four-star SF Vaughn Karvala is no longer visiting Syracuse basketball this weekend
I hear you, although my source didn't indicate that Vaughn isn't interested in Syracuse or anything like that. It's a scheduling thing; he's at a new school out in Phoenix, etc. He will still take an OV to 'Cuse.I fear it is going to be tough for Red to recruit this year, if we don't get off to a great start. I'm sure the dirty recruiting bad mouthing is strong from other programs, given the hot seat.

Patience. We have a lot of high end kids lined up that have a high probability of landing in our favorRemind me -- who do we have lined up for the class of 2026?
Past tense, we've recruited ok. But given the uncertainty, it will be difficult to land guys in upcoming classes if the coach's job isn't perceived as being on solid ground.
I would love for them to land Rippey, to take some of the heat off of Red. That alone would / should guarantee him another year. But if we struggle, it might be harder to land kids, given the perception about his status.
I agree with all those sentiments. And in terms of 2026 for SU, I'll just say that commitments across the country have come in slower this cycle than in years past. It has to do with the portal, revenue-sharing, realignment, NIL, etc. Plus, some analysts say the 2026 prep class is a bit weaker than other recent cycles. Syracuse is heavy for Vaughn, Deron, Dakari Spear, Jordan Smith Jr., Asher, etc. One other name that I'll have soon, too. Not sure the latest on MJ Madison and Constanza. Two guys on ACC PM last night broke down Syracuse basketball. They think SU killed it in the portal and marveled that SU hung onto Freeman and Starling. They think George is a great pickup and will run the team very well. They said SU is deep and are an NCAA team. They feel they got things done early in the portal and are flying way under the radar.
We're way behind schedule on recruiting, and a lot of that is the hot seat/potential lame duck head coach.Remind me -- who do we have lined up for the class of 2026?

There’s zero correlation to how football recruiting works compared to basketball. And I don’t know if I would say we are behind. The poster above is correct. Guys aren’t committing early anymore because of the portal. Only 30 of the top 100 in 2026 have selected a school. We're way behind schedule on recruiting, and a lot of that is the hot seat/potential lame duck head coach.
Regardless if we're in a good spot with kids, they might be waiting until they see how the season is going before committing. Meanwhile football has multiple '27s committed already.
