Love the use of going to war!
He’ll be a nice fit here and a popular player.

That would be awesome.Very religious kid too. He would lead the team in prayer before every game.
I wonder if he will still do that?
He should have - he’s a good player. He had many suitors outside of Syracuse… but it was never a doubt who he wanted to be with.
People from Fulton are preternaturally smart so he won't need a lot of time to study and will have extra time for the gym.Need to see 35% from three from him. He seems the type to spend 12 hours a day in the gym to get there.
I know this isn’t at all the exact same situation, but this is giving me Fran/Mccord vibes. Year 1, grab the culture setter for under market rates due to relationship. Huge!He had many suitors outside of Syracuse… but it was never a doubt who he wanted to be with.
Excited to have him!Just a fyi for those that have been downplaying his ability and worth...Illinois wanted him bad and made a substantial offer. Whatever you think that offer was I'd double it and your probably in the ballpark. Kinda surprised he turned it down but that shows the character and type of kid he is.

Yeah they probably saw there Keaton Wagler replacement in Doty…..Wagler was so under the radar, but thrived in their system and culture and now is going to be an NBA lottery pick. Not saying Doty is going to be that, but it’s a major compliment to be sought after for what I would imagine being the next man up in that system and role.Just a fyi for those that have been downplaying his ability and worth...Illinois wanted him bad and made a substantial offer. Sheesh. How much?
Dont really want to share too much because of who it came from. Not my business to put out but it was a huge number. Much more then 800k. Its crazy what these kids are getting offered.Sheesh. How much?
i have no way of validating it nor know how legit it is, but i was told he had 40+ schools reach out to him. which may have been more if it wasn't so obvious he was going to follow gmac.Just a fyi for those that have been downplaying his ability and worth...Illinois wanted him bad and made a substantial offer. Yeah every year the numbers have escalated a ton. Last year was the first year Syracuse did ok -- usually SU assumed the budget from two years ago was still fine. I hope we can buy a superstar or two this year and aren't left with our pants down from inflation. That would not be a good start and it would be regretful that SU didn't have a designated NIL collective ready at the Gmac announcement.Dont really want to share too much because of who it came from. I know for a fact he did. He had a lot of interested schools.i have no way of validating it nor know how legit it is, but i was told he had 40+ schools reach out to him. which may have been more if it wasn't so obvious he was going to follow gmac.
From what I understand he feels an incredible amount of loyalty towards GMAC. GMAC had been recruiting him since he was a freshman in high school and still kept in touch even when Red told GMAC he would not waste a scholarship on him. And when he got the Siena job, he was his first recruit! He thinks the world of this kid! Said he is the most like him in character than any other kid he had ever met!Just a fyi for those that have been downplaying his ability and worth...Illinois wanted him bad and made a substantial offer. I heard the same.I think somebody mentioned 800k previously.
So you’re telling me he’s the next Calvin Russell?i have no way of validating it nor know how legit it is, but i was told he had 40+ schools reach out to him. which may have been more if it wasn't so obvious he was going to follow gmac.
It might help our foul shooting.Very religious kid too. He would lead the team in prayer before every game.
