So I know some people close to this program. What I was told is he’s got a great motor, things really started to click for him during the 2nd half of the season, terrific athlete with high upside and can absolutely contribute as a bench piece in the ACC now.

I think the biggest thing making the jump especially as a young college kid is the size and athleticism of the P5 is so different. He seems to have both for the P5 level and the skills will continue to develop

Agreed and it looks like he had a late growth spurt a while back going from 6’1” to 6’5”.

The UCSD campus is so beautiful. My wife is currently getting her MBA there. Sometimes when she has classes I just wander the campus and walk over to the glider port. The hang gliders are crazy!!

The only thing I like better than the campus is LaJolla itself. Still happy my daughter went to SDSU, for about ($)60,000 or so good reasons over 3 years!

Yeah La Jolla is beautiful. Some friends and I rented a house walking distance to the beach to celebrate a birthday. The food scene is getting better there too, used to be just for old stuffy types. The Comedy Store is a blast too.

Mayes averaged 3 apg over his last 12 games and looks really solid and comfortable on the ball to me. I wish someone who watched him a lot more this year could opine. He’s built like Deron Williams/Triche.
