Class of 2026 SG Jordan Smith Jr. (VA) Offered

Don’t take it personally. There’s a lot of frustration on the board due to the state of the program and our inability to land any recruits. You have a job to do and whether or not we have a realistic chance of landing Jordan, as long as he keeps us in the mix and hasn’t officially dropped us, you can or should report it.

I said a long time ago that he has relationships with coaches in our program, so he is keeping us in the mix even though we have very little or no chance of getting him.

I’d say our chances would have been better had we played well and had a better record as the season went on - Red would look competent and his job secure, along with the job of his assistants, and Donnie would be in the mix as a lottery pick. But, that’s not our reality.
That's well said. Appreciate you. And, yes, I think Syracuse is in his top 6 because he's super tight with Coach B, and Autry has ties to both St. Paul VI and TTO. If the Orange was playing better, I'd be more inclined to say Syracuse has a legit shot. Now, though, I don't think that's the case. It's very frustrating that Syracuse doesn't have a 2026 prep signee, no doubt about it!

Yes, I read that. But we've been told the outside source was his dad.
That's inaccurate, my friend. I've never talked to Jordan Smith Jr.'s dad! Alex Constanza and Deron Rippey, among others, yes - but not Smitty!

FYI. The reference was to inside and outside sources.
That's correct. I talk to national recruiting analysts regularly, who are way more plugged in than me. They all say Syracuse's name is mentioned when Smith's recruitment is discussed, largely due to the SU staff's ties to St. Paul VI and TTO. But other suitors are out in front - Duke, Arkansas, etc.

Again, I'm sure we were 'in the mix' to be considered. But our staff has been lame duck for two years. I'm not surprised your sources inside the program were trying to spin any positivity they could.
That's fair. It's been a lame duck staff, yes. And, to be fair, I've had sources inside the program tell me that they think they're in the hunt for certain recruits or out of it for others. So not just positivity spinning, but I get what you're saying, my friend.

Just my two cents, you are way more locked in than I'll ever be, but I get the feeling our name is just being mentioned as a favor to the staff because he likes them. I dont think for one second this kid ever seriously considered coming here.
