Wow so cool to randomly see someone commit to Syracuse. A few thoughts. He's a pretty tall kid in a league without much size and his rebounding numbers are pretty non existent. He seems too slow to guard the 2 so we have a non rebounding forward on our hands. This team is going to need shooting, so I feel like there will be a place for him, but I will need to see him defend before I think of him as more than a bench piece.

He wont miss so no need to rebound

He’s above Kiyan right now for sure. Kiyan puts in the work and commits himself and he can be a much better player than he was as a frosh and hopefully much better coaching is a big part of that. You always recruit over if you can especially on the guard/wing spots because those positions are easier to play different combinations.

Different skill sets imo.

What I like about this is if you have a player that is willing to work to where the staff can get the most out of him but also brings an elite skill then we are cooking. Gerry mentioned that in his presser in different words. The players where they do a couple things ok to good and a couple things bad simply don’t work. Either you can do it all and some things well or you can do some things at an elite level if you can’t do everything.

A well prepared and effective team defense like we saw Siena play last year that’s now getting the addition of Brunt, a Rhoades disciple will help a ton here with having guys that are elite offensively.

That said it’s a great start. Loooonnng ways to go but a good start.
