After we hopefully land Jerry Deng might AK Okereke from Cornell be a final major piece as roster spot 12, assuming we do not try and land Jamir Watkins or RJ Luis?

Great story for this kid! He had no division 1 offers out of high school and went to Cornell just as a student. Eventually became walk on when a spot opened up and now is a team captain and is even started to generate some NBA rumors. He graduated Cornell in just three years, so he is very smart off the court and a scrappy stat box stuffer on the court. He also seem to be a hard worker, willing to learn, and a really nice kid.

If you put value in Evan Miya AK has a 4.53 BPR rating (compare that with RJ Luis BPR of 5.35 and Jamir Watkins BPR of 3.80)

He was recently followed by Alex Kline on Instagram and here is some more info and highlights about him.

PS. Off topic but it might be of interest Adam Kline is now also following Adam Weinstein on Instagram as well. Could he be coming back into the fold?

Sad to hear, if true...but perhaps if our interest is a new development perhaps he might reconsider his choice, especially if NIL offer is good. And he does play just down the road so he wouldn't have move far.

Which of these is not like the other, academically;

Cornell
Vandy

If academics were his only concern, I agree. But perhaps exposure, location, roster fit, relationship with staff and other things factor in. I don't know.

Talented kid with good size as a point forward type. Not sure how he would fit in given he’s a lot better than a 12th man based on his skillset and production.

I remember watching him in this year's game and being very impressed. He would be a perfect addition. Maybe he can bring a few lacrosse players with him lol.

Just to clarify, I didn't mean 12th scholarship as the 12th man on depth chart, I just meant the 12th scholarship given out(Deng would be #11 and #13-15 probably are walk-ons). I'm sure if he were to come he would get good amount of playing time off the bench, and perhaps depending on how he plays and how others play, even could earn a starter spot at some point in the season.

Not sure there is a spot for him. He's likely a 3 or 4. Love his background and his achievements. His experience and numbers definitely make it tempting though. Seems like we would be looking more for pg and center depth to fill out the roster. Thanks for your posts funkysoul77. Good stuff!

As long as the Deng story has been going the more it seems that ship has sailed.
Hope it hasn't but when nothing happens early we usually end up empty.

No #12 I believe. Just wondering though, what does that have to do with anything?
No gun enthusiasts here i guess. Andre Kirilenko, the Russian had fun with his initials in the NBA, wearing 47 for his career

I really hope we add another 5 or at least a 4/5.
