Class of 2023 SG/SF Emarquis Jones (NY) Portal from D2

34/76 over 32 games.

Let me do the math on that... you have to carry the 1 and move the decimal over... :-)

Yup I come up with 44.74% from 3 that is nice. You don't shoot 44.74% from three by luck. If it were 2/4 or something that is different. For D2, you can just out-athlete someone so it is super easy not to settle for a jumper, but when he does, he shoots at a very nice percentage. That shooting percentage for someone new to the game is a real basketball skill that can translate as you try to move up a level. Trying to dunk over everyone doesn't always translate when you start facing people who are just as good of an athlete as you and you can't jump over them.

I guess...this still seems like a stretch to me, even for a bench piece. Seems like one of those situations where one of the coaches knows the kid or his family/previous coaches.

As a kid at the end of the bench to take Fennell's place, who cares right? It is from a complete unknown as a player. I can see a real skill 45% from 3. This kid probably will not play a minute this year and transfer next year. I would take a chance on a kid with his sort of athleticism and he shows he can shoot 45% from 3 it is worth a roster spot. Not like he is going to be a rotational piece. If he is that means he is really good and surprised everyone, and we can't keep him off the floor.

That doesn't answer my question very well
it does because you asked it in jones thread. but i would also say a couple in this years class is better than anyone last year. and this years class is better and will end up far better.

Sorry my man. Still missing the question.

because we need up to 13 players. why is everyone so up in arms about a kid thats spot 11-15? how do you fill those spots? dont let it leak?
I just reread this thread because I keep seeing people saying stuff like this. "Everyone" is not up in arms. One poster seems to have an issue with this possibility and is going back and forth with a few others.
