The BCS contract expires in a couple of years. The BCS might move to just having a title game and then conferences would go back to the days of having bowl tie ins. The big east bowl tie ins will be a joke and the conference would never have a chance at a title. it would be the new cusa while the ACC, Big 10, Big 12, SEC and Pac10 will have tie-ins to all the big sexy bowl games.

All things being relative, still a better spot than Temple in the MAC.

It's a brillant move by the BIG, no one wants to be the guy to replace JOEpa. Shady leaves rutgers, goes to STATE penn gets fired after 2 years. The BIG puts a great coach at rutgers to build them to be a better doormat for a team from the east for the league.

I'm really surprised more people haven't paid attention to this, especially those who follow the Big East. That was their huge bargaining chip for recruiting, for conference revenue, etc. I know they're planning on the national conference at large TV markets being their revenue driver going forward, but I would think they were relying on that BCS cash.

I'm not surprised, people are too busy wondering when Penn State will join the ACC and if we're going to schedule hoops games against Seton Hall OOC.
