We know Shafer as a defensive guy. He's been our defensive coordinator since 2009. But he does have an offensive mind too. He was a QB in college.

• Transferred to Baldwin-Wallace (1986-90) where he was the quarterback for an offense that ranked 17th nationally in pass efficiency.

I really think that we are going to get a very solid football coach in Shafer. I also predict that he is with us for a longer period than Doug. Solid hire given the circumstance we are lucky that Doug put together such a solid staff. Nice parting gift by the Big Balogne
