Pete didn't have the greatest career, but he wrote probably the best football book, "North Dallas Forty," particularly at the time, that shined a light on the reality, the brutality, etc. of the game and showed a side of pro football that Pete Rozelle, et al., would've rather kept quiet. Book was made into a pretty damn good movie, too.
