Shout outs to Villari, Ingraham, Stonehouse, and the second unit DBs.

Best games for all of them. Good sign going forward.

Disappointing game, but these guys are positioning to be bigger contributors second half of the year.

I was thinking something similar.

- Stonehouse was fire today; 6 punts, 50.7 yd avg, three inside the 20.

- Villari had a breakout game.

- Ingraham played some big boy football today.

- Barron was playing very well before he got hurt. (Slight chance he’ll play next week.)

- Farmer did well after Barron went down.

- Bellamy was solid after replacing Wilson who was too soft. Bellamy was third team last week (Delaine?)

- Clark was consistently very good.

- Gould replaced Simmons late and did well.

Clark*, Farmer and Gould could be the safeties in 2024.

- Ellis played for the first time this season. He did well and will get better as he plays himself into game shape.

I think we played more than 20 players on defense today. A 7 man rotation on the DL and a 5 man rotation at LB. These rotations will help keep or guys fresh and healthy. People criticize the coaching, but the coaches get the credit for building the roster depth and game planning the rotations.

* Clark will be draft eligible this spring.

I commented several times throughout the day about Ingraham. But he looked like an Alabama kid today playing inside. 3 tackles. 2 solos and a TFL. He belonged against that OLine. We should start seeing him get more minutes. Paired with Lockett look out.

He rolled onto the first line, Darton with jobity and jacquez on the second line.

I’ll have to go back and watch but I don’t think Ellis played particularly well today.
The oline got dominated for the most, none of them played well relative to the opponent. But Clemson is the most physical team they play all year.

Moreso than FSU?

Defense, yep. Clemson still has the best and most physical defense in the ACC. Their OL is still really good. I think FSU, UNC, and Duke have closed the gap there.

FSU’s defense is much improved, but they aren’t rolling through the depth on the line like Clemson. They do have a lot of speed.
