Going into 2023, I think we are in good shape in the QB room. I agree. Given our history with starting QBs, and what has happened to Garrett to date, we should expect him to get hurt at some point during the season. I think (fingers crossed) that we will be better positioned in the event Garrett does get hurt. Last year, Lamson was the clear #2 and when he went down, our depth took a huge hit. As other have mentioned, CDRW is talented but when he got on the field for SU, he had only been with the program a couple of months. He wasn’t ready. No one is going to be with that little exposure to a new system. I am thinking Lamson and CDRW will have the talent and the experience and exposure to the system to be a lot more effective than our backups were last year. I think the staff would gone played a backup for a couple of weeks and given Garrett a chance to get back to 100% if they had a capable backup available. Hoping 2023 will be the year if Garrett gets banged up, we can move our second string QB In and still have an effective offense. Everyone is ignoring JaCobian Morgan but history says even lightly recruited QBs have a way of becoming factors when they get a lot of experience. This will be his 4th year at Syracuse and I wouldn’t be surprised if he comes out of nowhere to be a hero at some point in the next year or two. Believe it or not, he is only going to be a sophomore in 2023. Very interested to see if we replace LaNorris with another QB that arrives in the fall. I assume if we tried once, we will probably do it again sometime this spring. There will always be good QBs looking for a new school once they lose a battle for a starting position in spring ball. Much like what happened with CDRW last spring. WIth Garrett being a rising senior, I would think Syracuse would be a destination of high interest to kids who want to play ASAP.
