I'm not happy that he got hurt and I think the CMU player who targeted him should be suspended for several games but.....

freshmen QBs who come in to a college program end up doing a lot more throwing than they did in high school. The college season is 5 weeks preseason + 13 weeks of regular season, much longer than high school and more intense. All that extra throwing sometimes results in a tired arm or a dead arm sometime later in the year.

With Dungey off for a couple weeks (I realize he's thrown some), this can only help him avoid the tired arm and get through the long season. It will be very important for us to have him healthy and strong the last 4 weeks of the season.

I would have loved him to get the experience of playing against a defense like Lsu's, would have prepared him even better for the Acc Schedule.

I don't think with our offense that he is going to throw enough passes to get a dead arm. Didn't he throw 15 passes against Wake? How many had he thrown against cmu before he got hurt? I think you need to be throwing 35-40 passes a game for that to happen.

Zero benefit at all to Dungey's injury. Has he had problems with a "tired arm" in the past? Never heard of that unless we are talking about pitchers in baseball.

florange, which high school season are you referring to? Here in Texas, they start football practice beginning of August and if you make a playoff run to the states, it doesn't end until late December. If you make it to the finals, you end up playing 16 games, over 17 weeks! They don't even stop for Thanksgiving weekend.

drew brees has thrown 5,735 game passes since he shredded his throwing shoulder before his arm finally gave out.

Not entirely true...Mahoney received enough grooming to give us a decent chance to beat middle of the road conference opponents. We have a solid #2 QB now. Long can redshirt.

His arm didn't give out he got hit in an awkward position as he was throwing it. Slight injury to his rotator cuff. Might play this weekend.
