Rutgers hate is less relevant, but more real because of proximity, recent history, and familiarity. A large portion of SU’s student population is from NJ. A large portion of SU alumni live in NJ. To me, it isn’t about on field, it’s just about wanting to end them. Yes Kansas beat them. Kansas also just got a commitment from a 5 star LB who wants to play for a rising program. When’s the last time we did that? My point stands that B1G money is their life support, it’s not a measure of performance. That money is what stops them from falling to independent status like UCONN just did, meaning we will continue to see them in media no matter how bad, and they will continue to host OSU, Mich, PSU, etc. in our backyard recruiting ground.
