Siena by the numbers

Even with your cherry picking 40 to 43 is a huge jump

Where’s 43 coming from? I didn’t cherry pick anything. I compared his two upperclassman years at SU, 40% and 38% to his one year as a 5th year senior at Clemson, 41%.

A few percentage points is the anticipated variation for any shooter. 40 to 41% is not a huge jump.

Did you want me to include his underclassman numbers? Why?

I think it's crazy to deny a correlation

Why? FT form and 3pt form are fundamentally different. Release angles/points are often different and FT’s naturally don’t involve the lower body nearly as much. Not to mention all of the other variables, like being able to lock in on the rim, the difference between standing there with nobody moving and standing there with everybody running around, having your feet set vs needing to get your feet set, shooting off the dribble or catch vs holding the ball and taking your time.

They’re different things.

ChatGPT spit out some NBA players for me who are good 3pt shooters but relatively poor FT shooters.

Marcus Smart
Lonzo Ball
Draymond Green
Dillon Brooks
Jae Crowder

The list of good FT shooters who are poor 3pt shooters is quite long.
If you say so

I looked at overall not three. My mistake

Irons and woods are different and I suck at both
