Maybe but the offense was a debacle once conference play started excluding the home Duke which was fool's gold/fallacy. We were LOSING games when opponents were scoring in the low 60s. That's bad offense. Like the BC game. We managed 59 points even through an OT, lol. The UNC game was horrible offense in a win. 57 points and that was combined with brick after brick after brick/turnovers galore from UNC.

My hope is Kaleb will rekindle the Orange tradition of fast break points off turnovers created by the zone defense. Something we were lacking last season.

I believe a medical redshirt does count toward the limit for that season but I'm unsure.

There is no such thing as a medical redshirt. A reshirt year is a redshirt year, regardless of the reason. The only time a medical cause comes into play is when a player petitions to get a sixth year of eligibility. So, unless DC2 retires from basketball, he'll count whether he plays or not.

that is not true if you miss a certain percentage of your teams game you can apply for a medical redshirt DC2 did not meet those requirements so he was not granted a medical redshirt or waiver same thing.

I had considered a similar scenario...but had one or the other of them graduating and taking their basketball skills overseas.

I didn't even know Italy had a professional basketball league until Triche went there!

A couple days ago on Syracuse.com in response to Mike Water's article I expressed that the "secret" recruit isn't an American citizen yet {under my name there which is Dave}, but it's not appropriate that more be said by me. Mike said that "it had to be either Bryant or Jones", but that isn't even the best estimate even if nothing else is known, since it's already not secret that they've both been offered and while it's 'possible' a secret, GUARANTEE, could have been given to Jim, the odds while they're still hitting other quality schools up for official visits is virtually zero. ('verbal' just means 'by the use of words'; can be oral or written, so the phrase 'silent verbal' is fine.)

As of right now all 13 scholarships are taken. If for someone reason one becomes available, I believe either Bryant or Jones will come to SU because both have stated SU is very high on their lists. Since the team really needs Bryant and he's currently the higher rank candidate, and what Bryant's mother recently said, my bet is the secret candidate is Bryant.

I expect either Cooney or silent G to become a grad assistant and not return next year. Both of those guys spent 4 year in college at that point and are not going to be pros.

So you're saying that Gbinije transferred from Duke and sat out a year...only to voluntarily not play the full allowance of seasons? This makes no sense. This isn't football where a fourth-year, fourth-string scholarship player like Steve Rene would do well to take his diploma and move on. Cooney is a starter for pete's sake.

All languages are continuously evolving. When a dictionary lists a sequence of meanings it lists "the original" first; others are "evolved", usually "bastardized". English has a perfectly good word to indicate the spoken word: "oral" {oral contract, oral agreement, etc.}. "Verbal" then is much less informative; much less helpful. It has been "misused" so many times now for so many decades there is virtually no chance we'll ever get back to the "original".
