So the axiom is that the greatest improvement comes between the first game and the second game. Playing a Wake Forest instead of a North Carolina Central or such certainly pointed out things that need to be addressed and the Thursday kickoff leads to 2 extra practice days between Week 1 and 2. With an FCS (is that the right acronym? trying to break my I-AA habit) team in the Dome for week 2 and really a no lose situation in week 3 staff has almost 3 1/2 weeks to repair and tweak before the next perceived winnable test.

Disclaimer: Not writing off USC but a win on the west coast would be unexpected at the least.

I think the USC Minn game today will show a lot on what chances we have in 2 weeks.

Getting in a game against a decent FBS team has to help the inexperienced players a great deal.

I expect a lot of learning out of the WF game.
